๐Ÿšจ: 13-year-old Belgium boy was the first patient in the world to be cured of terminal brain cancer, in 2024!

This boy, Lucas Jemeljanova from Belgium, had DIPG—a rare, usually fatal brainstem glioma diagnosed at age 6. In the BIOMEDE clinical trial in France, he was assigned everolimus (an mTOR inhibitor drug). His tumor shrank and vanished completely on MRI scans over years, with no recurrence. He's the first known full cure; 7 others in the trial lived longer but weren't fully cleared. Exceptional response to the targeted therapy in this study.
