Looks like Franz Ferdinand’s frontman has been slapped by the fury of Royalist tweeters.
Alex Kapranos prompted a storm of social media hate yesterday after he suggested that Prince and Her Majesty died the ‘wrong way round’.
And on her 90th birthday!
It came yesterday night, hours after it was announced that Prince was found dead in his Minneapolis mansion.
The ‘Take Me Out’ singer posted ‘Queen and Prince. Wrong way round’.
The tweet outraged a number of his followers who immediately bit back.
Tweeters called him ‘harsh’ and ‘inappropriate’ for the remark.
One man posted a Tweet showing a heap of records getting ready to be burnt in protest.
Kapranos stayed away from the social media app for more than 11 hours before making matters worse.
He then Tweeted: ‘Prince would have made a much better head of state’.
However, one of his followers, @Emma_Conway20, made a pretty genius response and suggested, ‘Purple Reign’?
This isn’t the first time the Scot has expressed his anti-Royalist views.
Last year, he received a massive backlash for re-posting an article about how much HM makes from Scotland.
