I won’t honour Senate’s invitation tomorrow - Customs boss, Hameed Ali says

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), says he will not be honouring the invitation of the Senate tomorrow Wednesday March 22nd. Ali was asked to reappear before the senate tomorrow after he failed to appear the house last Thursday in his uniform.

Speaking to state house correspondents after a meeting with resident Buhari today, Ali said he had a court case to attend to tomorrow and so would not be available to appear before the senate.

A lawyer identified as Mohammed Ibrahim, had filed a suit at the Abuja Division of the Fedral High Court against the Customs boss over his refusal to wear the Customs uniform.
“The case is in court already. Somebody has sued us. I have gotten my writ of summons and they said status quo ante should remain; which means nothing should be done until the court makes a pronouncement. A private individual sued all of us; he wants an interpretation of the section that is in contention. I don’t want to talk so that I am not held in contempt of court’’Ali said
