The senate today suspended the confirmation exercise of 27 Resident
Electoral Commissioners President Buhari sent in for confirmation.
According to the senators, the refusal of the presidency to sack acting
chairman, Ibrahim Magu, even after they rejected him, is an insult to
the house. The senators argued that some of the presidential aides have
formed the habit of disrespecting them. They stated that the suspension
of the confirmation would send a signal to the preisdency that they are
not happy with the manner some of his aides behave. Continue to see what
transpired in the house after the cut.
