The newly acquired Navy Ship (NNS) UNITY which departed China last
month has arrived Port of Colombo, Sri Lanka, Southern Asia.
The Offshore Patrol Vessel departed Port of Klang, Malaysia on
Saturday, October 1st, 2016 and arrived Port of Colombo on Wednesday,
October 5, 2016.
The Ship which is on her maiden voyage to Nigeria was warmly received
at the Port by a delegation from the Nigerian Navy led by Rear Admiral
Andrew Odeh, the Naval band of Sri Lankan Navy and other dignitaries.
As part of her diplomatic activities in Sri Lanka, the head of
Nigerian Navy delegation and other senior naval officers of NNS UNITY
paid a Courtesy Visit on the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Area
of Sri Lankan Navy, Rear Admiral Jayantha De-Silva in his office.
In a statement in Abuja, Navy spokesman, Commodore Christian Ezekobe,
said that NNS UNITY is expected to depart Port of Colombo on
FridayOctober 7, 2016 enroute Mauritius for her onward journey to
Nigeria.
