The Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has
said that the federal government will support the plan by the United
Nations World Food Programme (UN –WFP) to create a food hub in
Nigeria.
The food hub, according to the UN body, will serve vulnerable people
and communities in conflict-affected areas in Nigeria and other
African nations.
The minister stated this while responding to the presentation made
earlier by the Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme
(WFP), Ertharin Cousin on their plans and activities in Nigeria during a
visit to her office in Abuja.
Ahmed stated that the plan for food hub in Nigeria as presented by the
UN body is a good opportunity for business in Nigeria and African region
as it will provide jobs.
