Following a rise cult-related activities in the Cross River State University of Technology, (CRUTECH) the management on Monday, October 31, banned the use of school bags, rucksacks, uniforms, berets, caps, hats, torn jeans, branded shirts, boots and many others items.
Two students, Arikpo Arikpo Ofem with registration number 14/EGC/078 (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) and Felix Udeme Umoren with registration number 14/CSC/056 (Computer Science) both in level 200, were suspended over involvement in cult-related activities.

At least 5 student have been killed in a clash between the Klans confraternity and the Black Axe with sources confirming that the fear of reprisals after the death of one ‘Liberty’ pushed the management to take such drastic measures. Security vans were seen patrolling the school premises with several secret service and plain clothes security personnel mingling with the students to gather intelligence and prevent further damage.

The management also banned night classes as light was not supplied to classes and workshops, restricting their use to day time only and before 5PM.
