A day after the bloody crushing of pro-Biafra demonstrations in the
South-East and South-South by security forces, former Senate President,
Ken Nnamani on Tuesday led a delegation of Igbo politicians to a
closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The 18-member delegation that arrived in a bus belonging to the Ken
Nnamani Leadership Institute, came under the aegis of South-East Group
for Change and comprised mainly members of the ruling All Progressives
Congress (APC).
They included the National Auditor of the party, George Moghalu, former
Senators Ifeanyi Ararume and Osita Izunaso, former House of Reps
member, Sharon Ikeazor and former Executive Vice-Charman of Nigeria
Communications Commission (NCC), Ernest Ndukwe.
There was also APC National Vice-Chairman (South East), Hon Emma
Eneukwu, member of the APC Board of Trustees, Chief Austin Edeze, Dr
Uzoma Obiyo and Chris Akomas, among others.
Neither Nnamani nor any other member of the delegation spoke to the press when they emerged from the meeting.
Nnamani calmly waved off an attempt by State House correspondents to
interview him but when asked if the issue of Biafra came up for
discussion, he replied “No, no, not now!”
