Abu Waheeb has featured in Isis execution videos, but he’s also known for this

Abu Waheeb, the top Isis commander mocked for looking like a doner kebab, has been thoroughly cooked in an air strike on Iraq’s Anbar province, the Pentagon says.

Former al-Qaeda member Abu Waheeb gained notoriety in 2013, when he murdered a group of Syrian truck drivers who were passing through Iraq.
He has appeared in some of Daesh’s execution videos and has wrongly been declared dead on more than one occasion.
The Pentagon now says that Abu Waheeb and three other militants were killed in an air strike dropped on Iraq on Friday afternoon.

‘On May 6, a coalition air strike targeted Abu Waheeb, Isil’s military emir for Anbar province and a former member of Al-Qaeda in Iraq who has appeared in Isil execution videos,’ a statement read.

‘It is dangerous to be an Isil leader in Iraq and Syria nowadays.’
Abu Waheeb was famously compared by Twitter user RIBSS’ Abu Mohammed to a doner kebab.
His image also been used by anti-Isis activists for satirical shampoo commercials and dating adverts.
