Soldiers on internal security operation in the North East have
killed 58 members of the terrorist group, and recovered various arms
and ammunition.
However, a soldier was said to have lost his life during the operation that took place at Abukarti, Baradili, Borgozo, Gaijaribul Abukar, kolomi, Marguba, Umarumi and Yasori 1 and 2.
The troops reportedly destroyed several camps belonging to the Boko Haram terrorists group and recovered a number of Improvised Explosive Devises (IEDs) buried by insurgents including two hand grenades, one single barrel gun, 52 motorcycles among other weapons.
Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman, in a statement issued in Abuja, said the soldiers from 29 Task Force Brigade have been conducting clearing operations on the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in their area of operations and making tremendous progress.
He said the soldiers also detonated an IED planted in one of the buildings at Yasori, used by the terrorists as an operational house at Borgozo general area. It also recovered several bags of foodstuffs such as beans, onions, sweet potatoes, guinea corn and cartons of fish.
