Turkey President Erdogan warns Muslims against using birth control

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on Muslims to reject contraception & have more children. Reuters cited Erdogan as saying in a live-broadcast speech in Istanbul on Monday, May 30.
"We will multiply our descendants. They talk about population planning, birth control. No Muslim family can have such approach. Nobody can interfere in God's work. The first duty here belongs to mothers.

Mr Erdogan became president in August 2014 after serving as prime minister for 12 years. His AK Party has its roots in Islamism and many of its supporters are conservative Muslims.
In his speech, the Turkish leader placed the onus on women, particularly on "well-educated future mothers", to not use birth control and to ensure the continued growth of Turkey's population.
Mr Erdogan himself is a father of four. He has previously spoken out against contraception, describing it as "treason" when speaking at a wedding ceremony in 2015 as a witness.
"For years they committed the treason of birth control in this country, seeking to dry uo our bloodline. Lineage is very important both economically and spiritually,"
He also believes any couple should have at least three children to boost the Turkish population.

Former Miss Turkey sentenced to 14-months in jail for insulting the country's President on Instagram

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

A court in Istabul today, Tuesday 31, convicted a former Miss Turkey of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan through social media postings and gave her a 14-month suspended sentence.
27-year-old Merve Buyuksarac was found guilty of insulting a public official but immediately suspended the sentence on condition that she does not reoffend within the next five years.

Her lawyer, Emre Telci, said he would file a formal objection to the verdict and appeal her case at the Strasbourg, France-based European Court of Justice.
Buyuksarac, who was crowned Miss Turkey in 2006, was briefly detained last year for sharing a satirical poem on her Instagram account in 2014. The posting, an satarical adaptation of the Turkish national anthem, was shared thosands of times on social media, and it was considered by proscutors to be insulting to Mr Erdogan, who was then prime minister. Buyuksarac, however, denied insulting him.

Since becoming president in 2014, Erdogan has filed close to 2,000 defamation cases under a previously seldom-used law that bars insulting the president. Free speech advocates say the law is being used aggressively to silence and intimidate critics.
The trials have targeted journalists, academics and even schoolchildren. Coupled with a crackdown on opposition media and journalists, the trials have sounded alarms over the erosion of rights and freedoms in a country that was once seen as a model of Muslim democracy.
Erdogan caused an uproar last month when, on the basis of an archaic German law that criminalizes insulting foreign heads of state, he went after a German comedian who mocked him in a profanity-packed poem.
"These insult trials are being initiated in series, they are being filed automatically,'' Telci told The Associated Press by telephone after the verdict. "Merve was prosecuted for sharing a posting that did not belong to her. My client has been convicted for words that do not belong to her.''
Thousands of others also posted the poem. It did not mention Erdogan by name, but alluded to a corruption scandal that allegedly involved his family.
Before the verdict was announced, Erdogan's lawyer, Hatice Ozay, argued in court that Buyuksarac's Instagram post had gone beyond "the limits of criticism'' and amounted to "an attack'' on the Turkish leader's personal rights, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

Handle Niger-Delta issue using the stick and carrot approach - Atiku appeals to FG

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has appealed to the Federal Government to apply the stick and carrot approach to solve the issues surrounding militant activities in the Niger Delta region. Atiku made the appeal while speaking at the launch of a book titled "We Are All Biafrans’’ written by Chido Onumah‎ today May 31st.

“I think the Niger Delta should be handled with a stick and carrot approach. In 2007, before I ran for president, I met with various stakeholders on the Niger Delta issue and they came up with a policy. Part of the recommendations was that the ministry be moved to the Niger Delta and not Abuja. We have had administrations that did not do their homework on the Niger Delta. If I had won, I would have sold 10 per cent shares in the NNPC; that will give me 20 billion dollars which would build infrastructure for the Niger delta but we will always end up with accidental leadership. Bring peace and development to the Niger Delta then they will stop blowing up pipelines. Then, we will get gas and then power can be stable but until then, we will not get it.’’he said.

Male stripper performs in front of pupils as young as 13 at Kate Middleton’s old school

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

A Male stripper simulated performing a sex act on a young girl in front of pupils as young as 13 at a prank show organised by sixth-formers at the school Princess Kate Middleton attended when she was younger.

Sixth-formers sneaked in the tattooed stripper, who was dressed as a sailor, he then peeled off his clothes and gyrated with the girl straddling his lap in the central courtyard of £30,000-a-year Marlborough College, a 'posh' school where the elite and well-to-do school their children..

The stripper even grabbed his crotch and at one point the stripper threw his thong in a girl’s face.

A source said:
“Marlborough is one of the most expensive schools in the country. Parents do not expect their children to be watching a sex show.”
“A group of girls met the stripper at the school entrance and sneaked him into the court area — the central hub of the school. They formed a circle around him and he stripped down to his G-string and was dancing and grinding with some of the girls.”

The stunt was part of Muck-Up Day, a school tradition in which pupils play pranks on their last day before exams.

Bristol-based stripper named Ross said:
“I didn’t know I would be performing at a school until I got there. I was told it was going to be for a girl’s birthday. At the end of the day it was just a prank, and I didn’t take all my clothes off.”

Jilted lover burns girlfriend alive. 'I have never seen something so atrocious" said lead police official

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

A Rome university student was burned alive by her ex-boyfriend after she left him, authorities said Monday. A murder one investigator called the most atrocious crime he has seen in his career.

22-year-old Sara Di Pietrantonio died on Sunday, May 29th, after her ex boyfriend Vincenzo Paduano, 27, set her car ablaze, prosecutor Maria told reporters.

He then chased her after she ran out of the car, setting her ablaze when he caught up with her, authorities said. Investigators said her attacker used a cigarette lighter to set Di Pietrantonio's face on fire after dousing her with alcohol.
"I can say that in 25 years in this work I have never seen something so atrocious," said Luigi Silipo, the lead police official in the investigation.
Paduano was being held for investigation of premeditated murder, Monteleone said.
The suspect first denied killing the woman, but after eight hours of interrogation, confessed to killing her, Silipo told reporters.

Paduano “didn't accept being abandoned' by the woman, Monteleone said. 'He organized, he planned the aggression,' the prosecutor said. Silipo said the suspect walked off his job as a security guard about 3am and waited outside the home of Di Pietrantonio's current boyfriend.

Then, after the woman left the home and drove off by herself, Paduano drove after her eventually forcing her car to the side of the road. He said.
"He got into her car, and after an argument, doused the car (interior) with a small bottle of alcohol, and doused Sara, too,” Silipo said. “She ran out, he torched the car, caught up with her, and after about 100 meters” set her ablaze, leaving her to die “in an atrocious manner,” the police official said.

A surveillance camera in the area captured some of the events, including at least two cars that passed by while the woman screamed in vain for help as she tried to flee, authorities said.

Monteleone made what she said was a fervent appeal to citizens to help such women, “not to look the other way.” She added that if passers-by had helped, the woman's life might have been saved.

She also encouraged women “not to keep hidden any threatening behavior by those who insist they love you, but it's not that way.”

Italian women's advocates have been trying to change mentalities in a country where men often turn violent when a women breaks off a relationship. One such champion for women to be more assertive in protecting themselves is an Italian lawyer whose face was mutilated in an acid attack ordered by her ex-boyfriend. She courageously testified at the ex-boyfriend's trial.

Sounding a call Monday to Italian woman to denounce threats by men to police was Chamber of Deputies President Laura Boldrini. The parliamentary leader said a change in cultural mentality was needed, starting in early childhood classrooms.
Women “must understand that those who should be ashamed are the violent ones, not the women who suffer threats," Boldrini said.

Lost year in Nigeria under Buhari leaves economy on knees' - Bloomberg magazine writes

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Looks like Bloomberg likes to analyze and criticize our government and president. Found this new posted on their site today. Please read the article below
President Buhari took office as Nigeria’s president a year ago on a wave of optimism that the ex-military ruler could revive a nation battered by falling oil prices and decades of corruption. Now, Africa’s biggest economy is on its knees and Buhari has been forced to throw in the towel on a central pillar of his economic policy -- a currency peg.
“It was difficult to imagine a scenario in which things got worse,” said Malte Liewerscheidt, a Nigeria analyst at Bath, U.K.-based consultant Verisk Maplecroft. “But it’s been a lost year. What’s missing is sound macroeconomic policies.”
Nigeria will soon enter a recession, according to the central bank, and an upsurge of militant attacks since February has sent crude production, which usually accounts for 70 percent of government revenue, plummeting to an almost 30-year low. Delays in approving a budget and a cabinet as well as Buhari’s refusal to weaken an overvalued currency -- until he relented this week -- have caused foreign investors to flee.
Foreign investors, fearing a devaluation, are staying away. Foreign direct investment was the lowest last year since the 2007-08 global financial crisis, and Citigroup Inc. said deals have ground to a halt. Capital controls prompted JPMorgan Chase & Co. in September to kick Nigeria out of its local-currency emerging-market bond indexes, tracked by more than $200 billion of funds.

Bond Losses

This year, Nigeria’s local-bond yields have climbed 276 basis points to 13.46 percent, leaving them as the only such securities among 31 emerging markets tracked by Bloomberg to make losses. Electricity output has plunged to about a 30th of that of South Africa, Africa’s second-biggest economy, as attacks on pipelines cut supplies of natural gas to power plants.
When Buhari beat then-President Goodluck Jonathan in the first election victory by an opposition candidate, U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration called it an “historic step for Nigeria and Africa.” A 73-year-old retired major-general who ruled from 1983 to 1985, Buhari campaigned to end the corruption he said was “killing” his country. He and his All Progressives Congress party promised to crush Boko Haram, whose Islamist insurgency has led to thousands of deaths in the northeast since 2009, and foster economic growth of as much as 10 percent.

Naira Peg

Now recession looms. The economy contracted in the first quarter by 0.4 percent, the first decline since 2004. If Buhari doesn’t alter his stance on the naira and loosen the restrictions used to defend its peg to the dollar, output will probably sink further, according to Mark Bohlund, an Africa economist with Bloomberg Intelligence in London.
“The Nigerian economy is at high risk of experiencing its first full-year recession since 1987,” Bohlund said. An improvement next year depends on security being restored in the oil-rich Niger River delta region and “a shift toward more market-based economic policy.”
Buhari was dealt a tough hand. He inherited a virtually empty treasury and Jonathan’s administration did little to diversify the economy, leaving it vulnerable to the crash in oil prices since 2014. A rainy-day fund known as the Excess Crude Account was whittled down to barely $2 billion when Buhari took office, from $21 billion in 2008.

Boko Haram

The president has won plaudits from investors for beating back Boko Haram and trying to overhaul graft-ridden institutions, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp., the management of which he sacked. Yet they have been left bemused by his economic policies.
He opted to keep gasoline prices capped at 87 naira ($0.44) a liter ($1.76 a gallon) until months of shortages and unrest over long fuel lines forced him to increase them by 67 percent in mid-May. He has also clung to the naira peg even as evidence showed a dollar shortage was strangling the economy. Buhari continues to oppose devaluation, though he has given the central bank leeway to implement a more flexible currency regime, his spokesman, Garba Shehu, said on Monday.
Under Governor Godwin Emefiele, the central bank began to fix the naira at 197-199 against the dollar in late February 2015, even as other oil exporters from Russia to Colombia and Kazakhstan let their currencies drop. Buhari has backed that stance since coming to power.
Businesses are struggling to operate as the central bank, whose reserves have fallen to a more than 10-year low, runs out of the dollars they need to import raw materials and equipment. Many are forced to turn to the black market, where the naira value has plunged to around 350 per dollar. That’s pushed the inflation rate to 13.7 percent, the highest in almost six years.

Currency Squeeze

U.S. carrier United Airlines said would it stop flying to Nigeria next month, in part because of the hard-currency squeeze. Foreign airlines have the naira-equivalent of $575 million trapped in the country that they can’t repatriate, according to the International Air Traffic Association. The Africa president of Unilever, whose Nigerian unit has seen its shares drop 29 percent since Buhari became president, called the currency policy “very insane.”
The central bank’s Monetary Policy Committee voted on May 24 to allow “greater flexibility” in the foreign-exchange market, which investors hoped meant that banks would be allowed to trade the naira more freely. Yet, while Emefiele said a new system would be unveiled “in the coming days,” no changes have been made.

Policy Failure

It was an “admission of the inevitable failure of the policy, which created a black market economy,” said Kingsley Moghalu, a former deputy governor at the central bank who now teaches at Tufts University in Boston. “The exchange-rate policy contributed quite significantly to creating a recessionary situation. It hit manufacturers, who could not access forex. It has created unemployment.”
The economy is so weak that Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun says officials probably won’t be able to collect enough taxes to meet the revenue target in this year’s record 6.1 trillion naira budget, which was only passed this month after senators said Buhari’s team made mistakes in the first version sent to them.
Nigeria’s 36 states, most of which depend on monthly handouts from the federal government, are on average three to four months late with salary payments to teachers, doctors and other civil servants, according to the oil minister.
“There’s a sense of exasperation among investors,” Ronak Gopaldas, a Johannesburg-based analyst at Rand Merchant Bank, said. “There’s still a level of goodwill toward Buhari and his government but it’s dissipating. The man on the street is really struggling.”

Ex-Chad dictator Hissene Habre sentenced to life in prison for war crimes

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Ex-Chad dictator Hissene Habre has been sentenced to life in prison for war crimes  by a Senegalese court on Monday. The Senegalese court found Habre guilty of crimes against humanity, rape, forced slavery and kidnapping as well as ordering the killings of 40,000 people during his rule between 1982 and 1990.

The ex-ruler, Habre, earlier denied the charges and refused to recognize the legitimacy of the court but left everyone in the court surprised when he showed no emotions after hearing the verdict with his face obscured partly by a turban and sunglasses.
According to Human Rights Watch, the decision makes Habre the first African former head of state to be convicted on the continent and it's also the first time that a court of one country has prosecuted the former ruler of another country over human rights crimes.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry welcomed Monday's verdict. "This ruling is a landmark in the global fight against impunity for atrocities, including war crimes and crimes against humanity," Kerry said in a statement released by CNN.

"As a country committed to the respect for human rights and the pursuit of justice, this is also an opportunity for the United States to reflect on, and learn from, our own connection with past events in Chad,"
Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, the U.N. high commissioner for human rights, descibed the ruling as groundbreaking.
"After years of struggle and many setbacks on the way to justice, this verdict is as historic as it was hard-won. I sincerely hope that today, at last, Habre's victims will experience some sense of relief. In a world scarred by a constant stream of atrocities, the ramifications of this verdict are global. "

'I will soon disclose what killed Abacha and Abiola' - Al Mustapha

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, yesterday May 30th, said he would soon reveal how his former boss and the acclaimed winner of June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola, died.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, Al-Mustapha alleged that Abacha and Abiola’s deaths were from same source.

According to him, he would be telling all he knows about the death of the two famous Nigerians in his new book, Mustapha’s Memoirs, which he is still writing and would soon publish. Al-Mustapha accused some Yoruba personalities of being insincere with Abiola while he was alive and in detention.
“For instance, when Chief MKO Abiola was in prison, many notable Nigerians visited him. They will visit him in the morning, and when they come back to the Villa in the evening to see Abacha, they would say a different thing entirely. On video “Unknown to these notable Nigerians, particularly notable Yoruba personalities, who visited Abiola, their visits were recorded on video. I did the video recording without their knowledge. These people would visit Abiola and come back to tell government a different thing about him. These same people would still go and tell Abiola a different thing about government. They are on video. The agencies of government have these videos evidence. These same people told MKO Abiola never to accept any compromise or negotiations. They advised him never to come back home without his mandate. All these things are on video. Of all the Yoruba leaders, only Oba Tejuosho told MKO Abiola the truth: to accept the conditional bail and go home. Only Oba Tejuosho told MKO Abiola that Abacha was his friend, urging him to reconcile with Abacha who was ready for reconciliation. It was Oba Tejuosho who told MKO Abiola that he still had the goodwill and would win if he re-contests after Abacha. What killed Abacha is what killed MKO Abiola. But I would reveal that after my court case, still at the Supreme Court. I would publish a book which has three volumes the Mustapha’s Memoirs, which will tell what happened under Abacha and how he died” he said

Federal High Court slams injunction on Runtown (details)

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

This is Ericmany Records side of the story. Read below...
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has slammed an injunction against the rising musical artiste Douglas Jack-Agu aka "Runtown". The injunction prevents him from performing at any event or any form of recording for the time being unless with the approval of Ericmany Limited. Runtown is signed under the Ericmany Entertainment label that presently holds the copyright to all his music.
He was sued in the Federal High Court by Ericmany on allegations that he signs up, concludes and attends musical shows without the knowledge of the label. Ericmany Entertainment was said to have invested millions of naira on Runtown.

However trouble started when Runtown apparently with the connivance of Bug Media ran by one Bugwu Aneto began to sideline Ericmany and collected money directly for shows without the knowledge of Ericmany. Bug Media is also a party to the court case.

In another twist of events, the management of Ericmany has sacked the said Bugwu Aneto as General Manager of the company for infractions which might not be unconnected with his alleged connivance with Runtown to shortchange the Label Ericamany.

All inquiries about the artiste and bookings for shows would no longer be through Aneto but through the management of Ericmany.

It is not clear how the young artiste is reacting to the court case and injunction. Observers suggest he was misled by Bugwu, the former General Manager of Ericmany to ditch his boss and benefactor Ericmany, and may now that the chips are down find ways to go back and reconcile with the Ericmany. On February 2, laptop bomber identified as Abdullahi Abdisalam Borleh, an elderly Somali national attacked Daallo Airlines Flight 3159.
The suspected suicide bomber detonated on board the Somalia-owned Daallo Airlines plane in mid-air, as it took off from Aden Adde International airport in Mogadishu.
The explosion failed to down the commercial jet, but it left a gaping hole in the fuselage. The force of the blast sucked the alleged bomber out of the plane’s cabin. His body fell to the ground near the district of Bal’ad, about 20 miles from the capital, where it was recovered by authorities.
The pilot of the Airbus A321 was forced to make an emergency landing just minutes after takeoff. The security footage released days later showed two men – one wearing a bright orange airport security vest (said to be Abdiweli, who is now sentenced to life in jail)– handing over what looks like a laptop case to a passenger waiting to board. Investigators said the laptop-like bag contained the bomb that was detonated on board the Djibouti-bound flight.
Al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for a purported bomb attack on a passenger plane, saying it was targeted at Western officials and Turkish NATO forces.
Al Shabab said the operation was "retribution for the crimes committed by the coalition of Western crusaders and their intelligence agencies against the Muslims of Somalia"

FG appeals to Nigerians to buy made-in-Nigeria products

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, has appealed to Nigerians to buy made in Nigeria products. The Minister made the appeal while speaking at a News Agency of Nigeria NAN forum in Abuja yesterday May 30th.
“We already have made in Nigeria cars. We want to champion the idea of Nigerians looking inward and thinking Nigeria promoting made in Nigeria products to encourage our own local manufacturers. It is very important.
That is the only way that we can ever become a producer nation. We cannot continue to be a consumer nation alone; it wouldn’t help us. We must help our own local producers. We must all start thinking of how we can do so. It shouldn’t be only the automobiles; it should be on all products.”‎he said

Which race of women do you think has the tightest vagina? Black, hispanic or whites? A new study tells us

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Not all study is supposed to make sense or be educative..lol...some people don't have work. A new medical study titled “Comparison of vaginal shapes in Afro-American, Caucasian and Hispanic women as seen with Vinyl Polysiloxane Casting,” set out to determine which race of women has the tightest vaginas and guess what they arrived at?

According to preliminary findings, black women have the tightest, followed by Hispanic, and then Caucasian women. But how can you they arrive at this conclusion? Did they try out women?

According to reports, the study called for a full vinyl polysiloxane casts of the vagina to be obtained from the subjects –  23 African-American, 39 Caucasian and 15 Hispanic women. The casts were taken in lying, sitting and standing positions.

Here is now the study was described:
Analyses of cast and introital measurements revealed: (1) posterior cast length is significantly longer, anterior cast length is significantly shorter and cast width is significantly larger in Hispanics than in the other two groups and (2) the Caucasian introitus is significantly greater than that of the Afro-American subject.
The shape of the vagina also varies from woman to woman and can be categorized as parallel sides, conical, heart, slug and pumpkin seed [21,23]. When compared among races, the pumpkin seed shape was found to be specific to African-American women [23].
To me, the most interesting data compared vaginal shapes among 23 African-American, 39 Caucasian, and 15 Hispanic women. The researchers found that the Hispanic ladies’ vaginas were wider overall, longer in the back, and shorter in the front than the vaginas of the other women. The study also noted that the Caucasian women had a much larger vaginal opening than did the African American women.
So basically, Caucasian women tend to have longer vaginas at the front of the body (anterior), shorter at the rear. Hispanics tend to have larger overall width (what you would term tightness) with the shortest length. African women tend overall to have the smallest width (tightest).

I want to put Anambra on the world map - Ubah

31/05/2016

I want to put Anambra on the world map - Ubah
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil and Gas Services Limited, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has unveiled his plan to put Anambra State on the global map.
In a chat on Monday with journalists in his Umuanuka, Otolo-Nnewi residence, Ubah said he wants to replicate the Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UAE) development magic in his home state through massive investments.
Ubah, who is also the Publisher of The AUTHORITY Newspapers, pointed out that the welfare of the people of the state is paramount to him and has therefore resolved to give something back to the society.
He said: “God has planted something in me that whatever I touch must turn to gold and it is my desire to positively impact my people. I see money everywhere; I see money every day, so it is my desire and determination to use that creative power to empower my people.
“I am one of the most affluent personalities in Nigeria today but at a point in my life, I never believe I could have N5,000 but now the story has changed for the better; we talk in millions today if not billions; the only way to show gratitude to God is to extend his goodness upon me to others.
“Go to any village in Anambra State; I make bold to claim that none of them can compare with Umuanuka, if there is any tell me. If we have done that in my village, what do you think of the world we are trying to build for the state? We have seen Japan, we have seen Dubai; it is my intention to replicate what I have seen in those places here.
“At 21, I built my own house here, it’s a storey building; I got married to a rich man’s daughter when my father’s house was even a mud house, but she left her father’s house and accepted me. It is all about being focused and determined to succeed. I am determined to put Anambra State on the world map,” he reiterated.
The business mogul, sports administrator and promoter, added that he has always been interested in adding value to Anambra in everything he does.
According to him, he decided to invest in football, build a games village, float a newspaper (which is doing very well by all standards) and also set up two Frequency Modulation (FM) radio stations as part of his determination to bring innovations into the print journalism and broadcasting.
The publisher said that he is prepared to employ 774 bloggers in all the local government areas of the federation so that The AUTHORITY Newspaper can be better equipped to do an on-the-spot reporting.
Ubah said he is making youth empowerment and employment his focus because of his realisation that a lot of evil is pervading the society due to idleness, stressing that an idle hand will automatically be the devil’s workshop.
He said: “Things are so hard for people in Nigeria and it is our desire to alleviate their sufferings through what we are doing; imagine a graduate of 10 years coming to beg to be our vendor. If that man fails to get the job, only God knows what will follow next. We intend to give hope to the hopeless.”
On FC Ifeanyi Ubah, he said that the club has become a brand in just a year because of a lot innovation he has brought into the Anambra Warriors.
“Anambra families will soon start producing footballers for the world through the academy we are setting up; we intend to partner with European and Asian clubs and in the process top flight players will be attracted to come and play in Anambra State.
“Players in the academy will have opportunity to learn and play football, study foreign languages so that even if they fail to play football later in life, they can become ambassadors and be useful, not only to themselves but the entire society,” he said.
Ubah, who is also the Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association, said he intends to institute entrepreneurship youth summit once work is completed at the Games Village in Nnewi to give budding and youthful entrepreneurs opportunity to do things in a better way.
He said that he had taken the Anambra FA to a befitting secretariat as soon as he was elected its chairman, noting that youth football, women football, traders’ tournament and other activities that will positively engage the Anambra youths would soon be unfolded.

Another N/Delta militant group emerges, targets private oil installations

Another N/Delta militant group emerges, targets private oil installations
As the Federal Government moves against the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), militancy in the region has taken another dimension as a new group: The New Delta Suicide Squad (NDSS) has emerged.
Unlike the NDA which concentrates its attacks on pipelines and facilities of major oil firms, the new group has threatened to destroy the equipment of private oil firms’ installations in the region.
The announcement of the group came on the heels of President Muhammadu Buhari’s threat in a national broadcast to mark his first anniversary in office, to crush the upsurge in militancy in the Niger Delta which has crippled Nigeria’s oil production.
In a statement mailed to The AUTHORITY, NDSS warned owners of tank farms, storage tanks and private jetties to quit the Niger Delta within seven days.
It said failure to comply with the deadline, the owners of such facilities stood the risk of losing their investments.
In a statement issued on Monday by the spokesman of the group, Harry Ebiye, he said: “The New Niger Delta Suicide Squad warns all owners of tank farms, storage tanks and private jetties to quit the region within the next seven days beginning from the date of this publication or risk the destruction of all their facilities from the date of the expiration of this ultimatum.
“The exploitation of this region by scavengers, economic pirates, and cowboys must come to an end” Ebiye said.
The AUTHORITY learnt that top officials of the Federal Government are divided over how to handle the current attacks on oil installations in the Niger Delta by militants.
A meeting with representatives of top militants in the region, reportedly organised last week by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) on how to contain the security problems in the Niger Delta, ended in a deadlock.
One camp had reportedly broached the idea of using a former South-South governor to reach out to the militants, but shelved the idea when it was realised that the former governor did not have the required clout and contacts amongst the militants.
Another issue being reportedly considered is that of the detention for over 70 days, without trial, of Azibaola Roberts, a cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Ironically, Roberts is being held by the EFCC for a $40 million contract to secure oil pipelines during the Jonathan administration. Some security sources hinted on the possibility of the government engaging Roberts to negotiate with the militants currently destroying oil pipelines in the region, since he had successfully handled such projects before on behalf of the government.
An EFCC source hinted that they did not have sufficient evidence to charge Roberts to court, but that having detained him for over 70 days, the commission may be left with no option than to charge him to “any court, just to save face.”

Niger Delta Avengers pen open letter to Tompolo, the International community & The United Nations

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Through their spokesperson, Brig.Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, the Niger Delta Avengers wrote an open letter which was shared on their website, to former Niger Delta militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo and the International community, asking whether they are witnessing the onslaught the Nigerian Army have unleashed on innocent citizens in their communities. What they wrote after the cut...

Tompolo before your eyes your people are suffering.
Our dear brother Tompolo, how is your friendship with the Nigerian Government. The people you took side with against us (the Niger Delta Avengers). We offered you the olive branch by beckoning you to join us in this struggle, but you refused
It is not our business what goes on in Gbaramatu Kingdom but our concern is the innocent children, women and aged people whom the Nigerian military has chased away from their homes now taking refuge in the forest. We warned you before hand that the Nigerian Government, can never be trusted.
To the Nigeria military, why are you looking for soft targets? If you are looking for the Avengers you know how to find us. Don’t deceive your President. Information gathered by the Intelligence unit of the Niger Delta Avengers revealed that Oil Marine Services (OMS) whose Chairman and CEO is Capt. Okunbor Idahosa also known, as Capt. Hosa is the company Nigerian Government awarded the Pipeline surveillance contract to spanning from Escravos to Lokoja. The said Capt. Hosa bribed the Brigade Commander Benin (Brig. Gen. Faruk Yahaya) alongside the Officer Commanding Army Gunboat, JTF (Major. M. B. Yahaya) with the sum of two hundred and fifty million naira (250,000,000) in collaboration with one Ayiri Emami to destroy Gbaramatu Kingdom in the guise of looking for the Niger Delta Avengers.
The question is, why the innocent people of Gbaramatu, why the innocent pregnant women, why unleash terror on the aged people of Gbaramatu, Capt. Hosa, Major Yahaya, Ayiri and Brid. Gen Faruk must you waste all these innocent blood just to secure the pipeline surveillance job? Why making the innocent people of Gbaramatu suffer? This act of the Nigerian Army to us is the greatest act of cowardice. This fight we believe is against the Avengers and not the innocent villagers of Gbaramatu Kingdom.
Where is the International Community and the United Nations when all these unspeakable injustice, is served the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom by the very unprofessional Nigerian Military? Are they not aware of the raping of young girls, looting and destruction of properties by the Nigeria military in Gbaranmatu kingdom?
As for you Tompolo, what do you have to say about the horrible treatment meted your people by Nigerian Military, are you still going to call the Niger Delta Avengers criminals, are you still going to take side with the Nigeria Government against your people? What happened to you (Tompolo)? We respect the love you have for your people the Niger Delta. What is really happening to you when the likes of Mr Ayiri, Capt Hosa and Co are unleashing this kind of atrocities on your people, has the wealth you acquire made you soft that you don’t know what to do anymore?

The Nigerian Military cannot intimidate us by harassing innocent Niger Deltans. Gbaramatu is just one kingdom in Delta State. The Niger Delta is made up of seven States, it is therefore very funny to lure us to halt our well-planned line of actions that will shock the whole world by harassing innocent villagers.
To you Capt. Hosa the new pipeline protector; the intelligence unit of the Avengers has your full data, we know where all your assets are located and that most of your businesses are in the Niger Delta. For this single act of injustice against the innocent people of Gbaramatu you, your wife and entire family will suffer.
To Major M.B. Yahaya, we are sure you have not seen real combat before; how did you rose to the rank of a Major this is to show that Nigerian Military is finished if it to depend on people like you. You are only good at harassing innocent women and children in the name of looking for the Niger Delta Avengers. We are not surprised because all Nigerian Military are corrupt. Be assured that we are making this fight personal with you as we shall make your life a living hell. Can anyone tell the difference between Major MB Yahaya, Brig. Gen Faruk Yahaya and Boko Haram? We are asking because we cannot spot any difference.
Is the Nigeria military now a hired gun for the rich? The Amnesty International should take note of these officers who authorized the harassing of the innocent people of Gbaranmatu.
To the International Oil Companies and Indigenous Oil Companies, it’s going to be bloody this time around. Your facilities and personnel will bear the brunt of our fury, which shall fall upon you like a whirling wind.
Brig.Gen Mudoch Agbinibo
Spokesperson.

Exclusive: Runtown parts ways with his label, Eric Manny Records, claims threat to life

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer Runtown has parted ways with his record label, Eric Manny Records (or at least he's trying to) and they didn't do so on the best of terms. Eric Manny, owned by billionaire businessman, Okwudili Umenyiora, has gotten a court injunction stopping Runtown from performing as an artist, amongst other things, pending when they settle their issues.

Runtown got his lawyers to write to the label, claiming threat to life, extortion, and that he didn't get his payment/royalties from performances, ring-back tunes and etc. He also said he has returned all properties he received from the label when he signed with them in 2014. Read his letter to the owner of Eric Manny and his lawyers letters after the cut...(will bring Eric Manny's side of the story later)
